FLORIDA SUNSHINE STATE GAMES-TABLE TENNIS-2015 MEDAL WINNERS

The Florida Sunshine State Games for Table Tennis Championship of Florida was held on June 20-21, 2015 in Lakeland, Florida. A total of 91 players registered for this great tournament. This was the all-time record for the number of participants in The Games. State and local officials were thrilled with the huge turnout and the support for Table Tennis in Florida. There were 15 different events held in the two-day, Two Star USATT sanctioned event.

NOW REGISTERING FOR MID-FLORIDA JULY CLASSIC OPEN--LAKELAND, FL

Registration is now open for the very popular Mid-Florida Tour July Classic Open. 2015. This spectacular TWO-STAR USATT sanctioned tournament will be held in beautiful Lakeland, Florida on July 17-18, 2015. Players from all over Florida and other states are expected to enter this exciting event. A maximum of 121 players may enter the Colossal Round Robin Singles event. The tournament will have 24 first class Butterfly Tables available for the competition.

Super Big Ball (44mm) Singles Event, USSTTA Sandpaper Singles Event, and Open Doubles Event will be available on Friday night, July 17, 2015, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Colossal Round Robin Event will begin on Saturday morning, July 18, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. All players are urged to enter. You may join the USATT or renew your membership at the tournament site.

SUNSHINE STATE GAMES BREAKS ALL-TIME RECORD!!!

The Sunshine State Games-Table Tennis 2015 was held on June 20-21, 2015 in Lakeland, Florida at the Simpson Park Community Center. A total of 91 players registered for the annual event. Not only was this a record number for Table Tennis in all the Sunshine State Games, but it appears to be a record number of entries nationwide for Table Tennis in the various state games around the nation. 

Players were in attendance from all parts of Florida and from four additional states. Several of the groups had upwards of 34 players registered for the Saturday events. It was a full day of exciting play on all 24 Butterfly Tables. Brad Woodington was pleased with the great turnout of players and the support for Table Tennis in Florida.

NOW REGISTERING FOR LAKELAND JULY TOURNAMENT

The Lakeland Table Tennis Association has announced that registration is now open for the Mid-Florida Table Tennis Tour tournament which is to be held in Lakeland, Florida on July 17-18, 2015. A total of $2000.00 will be available for prize money at the two-star USATT sanctioned tournament. Trophies will be provided for 1st through 4th place in all the single events. Pizza, soft drinks and bottled water will be provided for all participants at the tournament. Newgy Industries is also providing a high quality $895.00 Table Tennis Robot for the winner of the Mid-Florida Table Tennis Tour at the end of the season.

SPACE COAST TABLE TENNIS OFFERS PROMOTION-NEW TABLES

Bill Mitcheson has announced that new T-shirts with the famous Space Coast Table Tennis Logo will be available in the local clubs in the area. This promotion will allow players who actively support the local club to obtain the T-shirts at no cost. This is a great opportunity to support the local club and also to advertise the club throughout the area. Mitcheson also announced that two brand new table tennis tables will be purchased for use in the local club. 

We would also like to wish a speedy recovery for Ted Hackler, Jr. who has had recent surgery. Ted has been a long time supporter of Table Tennis in central Florida.

VERO BEACH TABLE TENNIS ADDS A NEW CERTIFIED COACH

Tyson McCoy is now a fully certified USATT Coach. McCoy is an active member of the Vero Beach Table Tennis Club and has greatly improved his own play at the club and at various tournaments in Florida. Having certified coaches available at local clubs is a real plus for the sport. The enthusiasm that McCoy brings to the sport will certainly be a plus for his students.

RECORD NUMBER OF PLAYERS FOR SUNSHINE STATE GAMES

Brad Woodington, the state director for the Florida Sunshine State Games-Table Tennis, has announced a record number of registrants for the upcoming Florida Championship Tournament. Woodington reports that close to 100 players will be competing in this special State Sponsored Tournament. Fifteen events will be held in this famous two-day tournament with players from all over Florida and several other states in attendance. Woodington is thankful for the broad support of Table Tennis in Florida. The tournament will be held in beautiful Lakeland, Florida with 24 Butterfly Table Tennis Tables on June 20-21, 2015. All players will receive a T-Shirt as part of this festive event. The Sunshine State Games is the longest continuous State Games in the entire nation. Woodington has indicated that the great number of players who have entered the tournament this year will guarantee the continuance of Table Tennis in the State Games. The officials from the Florida Sunshine State Games are pleased with the huge turnout of players in support of Table Tennis in the state sponsored event. There are now over 70 players from around the state who are registered, with several players from other states. The two day event will be held in Lakeland, Florida on June 20-21, 2015. Players may register for events on both days or on just one of the two days (Saturday and Sunday). There are a total of 15 events offered and players are urged to enter multiple events for which they qualify.

VERO BEACH TABLE TENNIS CLUB-GREAT REPORT!

The great Table Tennis Club in Vero Beach, Florida is reporting that Table Tennis activities will be available all summer long for at least two sessions a week. In addition, the club is highlighting their top of the line Newgy 2050 Table Tennis Robot, which will be available to players at no additional cost. The officials and players at this local club are excited about the growth and participation. Many of the players at the club have greatly improved their USATT rating and with more sessions available and now the use of a great robot, we expect even more improvement!  Great job being done in that beautiful and fun part of Florida!
